Vonice R. Brinson, age 71, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 8:06pm at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky, surrounded by his loving family.

Vonice was born on December 13, 1947 in Sommerset, Kentucky, to Alpha & Daisy (VanHook) Brinson, both of whom are deceased.  He married Regina Weaver on January 31, 1970 at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Carey, Ohio, and she survives.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Bonnie (Forest) Graver of Upper Sandusky, and Jennifer (Leonard) Luikart of Harpster.  5 grandchildren, Jordan (Kayla) Brinson, Sarah Luikart, Hunter Luikart, Kaytlyn Graver, and Jacob Luikart, and 2 great grandchildren, Reese Brinson, and Remi Brinson.

Vonice is also survived by his 2 brothers, Vernon (Molly) Brinson of Upper Sandusky, and Bernard (Delana) Brinson of Tipp City, and 2 sisters, Rosie (Richard) Puchta of Carey, Doris (Harold) Schryer of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Dakota "Faye" Critchfield.

Vonice was a 1966 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  Upon his return after the war, he worked for the former Stoll Casket Company, and Millington Plastics/Blackhawk in the paint department, and then for Wyandot Motor Sales as a driver.

He was a former member of VFW Post #2842, Wyandot Classic & Cruisers, and the Wyandot County Rod & Gun Club, all of Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies Vonice enjoyed taking care of his yard, watching OSU football and basketball, classic cars, and racing cars.

He enjoyed his neighborhood, where he was known as the "mayor" of the street, and was usually seen rocking on his front porch, many times joined by a friend or 2, where they  tried to solve the world's problems.  Also Vonice had never met a stranger, whether 4 legged or 2.

He will be remembered for his love of his children and grandchildren, and watching all of their activities.
