Vivian R. (Cooper) Frey

Vivian R. Frey, age 87, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at her home in Upper Sandusky.

Vivian was born on April 22, 1935, to Arthur and Alma (Burson) Cooper, both of whom are deceased.  She married Herman J. Frey on November 9, 1953, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2013.

Surviving are four sons, Daniel K. Frey of Upper Sandusky, Timothy J. (Debbie) Frey of Upper Sandusky,  Joseph J. Frey of Upper Sandusky, Jaime W. (Marcy) Frey of Kirby, and three daughters, Patricia A. (Charles) Luikart of Carey, Ann M. (Garry) Brodman of Upper Sandusky, and Sharon J. (Fred) Schmits of Findlay.  25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by sisters LaDonna LeVally of Forest, and Mary (Jim) Keeler of Florida.

Vivian was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy M. Frey, and a sister Carolyn Webb.

Vivian graduated from Forest High School in 1953, and she was primarily a homemaker – raising her 8 children. She also helped Herman at Frey Roofing and Lumber in Kirby, and also helped on the farm.

She was a devoted and a long time member of St. Marys Chapel in Kirby, and was very active within the church.

For hobbies she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers/rock garden. She definitely had a green thumb.  She was very loving and caring to her family and a dedicated care-giver to her daughter Sandy, and her husband Herman.

Vivian enjoyed playing cards, playing in tournaments at the K of C, going bowling and golfing with her husband.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at St. Mary's Chapel in Kirby with Father Conrad Sutter OFM Conv. officiating.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with a Christian Wake Service beginning at 7:45 PM.
