Virginia L. Tackett

June 26, 1933 — January 3, 2011

Virginia Lee Tackett, 77, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and formerly of Marion, Ohio, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, after a long illness.

She was born in Marion on June 26, 1933 to James and Helen (Ames) Hough, both deceased. She married her husband George Tackett on November 29, 1955 in Huntington, WV. George died in 2000.

Surviving are two sons William (special friend Vicky Henicle) of Upper Sandusky and Robert Tackett of Dublin, Ohio; two daughters Marsha (Craig) Clark of Marion and Georgia (George) Crosby of Columbus, Ohio; and five grandchildren Jennifer Clark, Kathryn Titus, Elizabeth Crosby, Leslie Clark, and Marcus Tackett.

Virginia is also survived by brothers James Hough of Loogootee, Indiana and Michael Hough of Coldwater, Michigan and sister Kay Blevins of Sylvania, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by brothers William Hough and Charles Hough and sister Barbara Seedle.

For most of her life, Virginia was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She had also worked as a manager for Murphy's Department Store in Marion, Ohio. Later, she worked as a teacher's aide for St. Mary's Catholic School, also in Marion. Prior to her illness, she was an acftive member of the Church of the Nazarene in Upper Sandusky.

Virginia enjoyed watching sports (Go Bucks!), doing jigsaw puzzles, shopping for antiques with her daughter, and dining and laughing with friends and family.

Funeral services for Virginia Tackett will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday January 6 in the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with Rev. Ben Gregory officiating. Burial will take place in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Marion.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene or to Fairhaven Community Retirement Home and can be mailed to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351
