Virginia J. Ekleberry

Virginia J. Ekleberry, age 94, of Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 3:30pm at the Bucyrus Community Hospital in Bucyrus.

Virginia was born on October 14, 1921 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Nevin and Emma (Larick) Kotterman.  She was married to Gerald "Jerry" G. Ekleberry for over 75 years, with Jerry passing away on March 26, 2015.

She is also survived by 2 sons; Lary (Marie) Ekleberry of Nevada, and Gary (Alice) Ekleberry of Bucyrus. 5 grandchildren, Cindi (Glen) Welsh, Cathy (Tim) Miller, Steve (Sharon) Ekleberry, Jerald (Angie) Raypole, and Zendra Raypole, and 24 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, and 3 great great great grandchildren also survive. Along with a sister in law, Mary Ekleberry of Upper Sandusky.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Sharon Raypole, a granddaughter, Jessie Marie Ekleberry, 3 brothers, Robert Kotterman, Glen 'Bid" Kotterman, James Kotterman, and 2 sisters, Wilda McBride and Leah Jean Kellogg.

She was a homemaker and a member for over 65 years of the Emanuel United Church of Christ in rural Upper Sandusky, where she was active at one time in the Woman's Guild, teaching Sunday School and serving as a superintendent.

Virginia was 1939 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, and a member of the former Mother of Twins Club in Bucyrus.  For hobbies she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting afghans, cooking, making homemade noodles and traveling with her husband Jerry to Amish Country, and throughout the United States.

Graveside services for Virginia Ekleberry will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Nevada Cemetery, with Rev. Jay Scott officiating.
