Violet I. "Dolly" Ward

Violet I. "Dolly" Ward, age 86, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed
away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 7:30pm at her home
in Upper Sandusky.

Dolly was born on September 11, 1923 in Salem Twp., Wyandot County, to Carl and Blanche (Rife) Karg, both of whom are deceased. She married James Ward on June 9, 1944 in Covington, Kentucky and he died March 17, 2001.

Surviving are 2 sons, Gary (Wanda) Ward of Upper Sandusky, Howard (Carolyn) Ward of Upper Sandusky, 3 daughters, Joyce (Richard) Shelton of Greenwood, South Carolina, Jeanette (Rodney) Van Sickle of Fremont, Ohio, and Linda Pell of Battle Creek, Michigan; eleven grandchildren, Tracy McCurry, Jennifer Larkins, Clayton Van Sickle, Casey Van Sickle, Jason Ward, Eric Ward, Kyle Ward, Kevin Ward, Wendy Meyer, Mark Pell II, and Dal Pell; and fifteen great grandchildren, Drew and Brady Meyer, Sophia and Katherine Pell, Jeran, Reagan and Jacob Ward, Krista, Mackenzie, Alexis and Abbigail Ward, Damon and Reece Ward And Ward and Cade McCurry.
She is also survived by a sister in law Colleen Karg of Upper Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Warren, Clinton and Jerry Karg, and a sister Betty Loose.

Dolly was a homemaker and helped her husband Jim with the operation of the family construction business.

She was a member, of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky for 74 years, where she taught Sunday School, and was an active member of the True Blue Class, Trinity Two-Somes, and the Woman's Guild.

Dolly was an accomplished quilter who blessed each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with a quilt that she created.. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, traveling, and listening to the music of Daniel O'Donnell. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
