Viola A. Fisher, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away
Wednesday, June 08, 2011 at 1:25pm at the Fairhaven Retirement and Healthcare Community in Upper Sandusky.
Viola was born on August 30, 1930 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Purley Cornelius and Hazel Marie (Johnson) LeVan both of who are deceased.
Viola was married to Richard J. McColly and Donald E. Fisher. Both are deceased.
Viola is survived by her children, Richard R. (Cheryl) McColly of Upper Sandusky, Bonnie S. (Larry) Ratliff of Upper Sandusky, Catherine L. (James) Brady of Clarksville, Tennessee, Roger E. (Barb) McColly of Upper Sandusky, David L. (Cindy) McColly of Arlington, Texas, John R. McColly of Marion, Ohio, Carol S. (Allen) Smith of Delaware, Ohio, Don K. (Mary Jo) Fisher of Dayton, Ohio, and Sara L. (Jerry) Patterson of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Twenty-six Grandchildren, Markus McColly of Gahanna, Ohio, Michelle McDonald of Yukon, OK, Jonathan Ratliff of Marion, Jennifer Moore of Delaware, Jason Ratliff of Pickerington, Joel Ratliff of Upper Sandusky, Jennifer Brady of Woodside, NY, Erin Brady of Clarksville, TN, James Brady Jr. of Plover, WI, Christina Williams of Clarksville, TN, Tyler Hudson of Yuma, AZ, Todd Hudson of Yuma, AZ, Shane Brady of Woodside, NY, Bradley McColly of Upper Sandusky, Kyle McColly of Upper Sandusky, Bridget McColly of Upper Sandusky, Drexler McColly of Marion, Kelsey McColly of Marion, Whitney McColly of Arlington, TX, Catie McColly of Arlington, TX, Alexander Smith of Delaware, Victoria Smith of Delaware, Gabriel Fisher of Dayton, Deacon (Doc) Fisher of Dayton, Jackson Patterson of Grand Prairie, TX, and Chloe Patterson of Grand Prairie TX. She is survived by 4 brothers, Forest (Hope) LeVan of Springfield, OH, Arthur (Debbie) LeVan of Cumberland, OH, Howard (Linda) LeVan of Kenton and George LeVan of Marion. She is also survived by two sisters, Dolly (Dick) Arnold of Urbana and Saundra (Jim) Stanley of Wise, Virginia.
An aunt, Ethel Bauman of Bellefontaine and a sister in law Ruth Thompson of Ashtabula and a very special niece Shirley (John) Watkins of Upper Sandusky.
Viola was preceded in death by a son James L. who died in infancy, a brother Emerson "Junior" Thompson, and two sisters, Blanche Fout and Mary June Carter.
Viola was a homemaker and had worked at one time at Marvin Manufacturing in Urbana and also as a waitress at Grimes Field Airport Restaurant, Isaly's and the former Evergreens Restaurant and also for the Pleasant Fire Department.
She was of the Baptist faith having at one time being active with the First Baptist Church in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies, she enjoyed maintaining her home, whether that was cleaning, doing laundry or cooking, and also she like to crochet and sew.
Family and friends will remember
for her kind and giving spirit and her love for her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services for Viola Fisher will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with Vance Shepherd officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
Visitations will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
