Vernon A. Brinson

Vernon A. Brinson, age 83, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the 1:12am at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Vernon was born on June 18, 1940 in Summerset, Kentucky to Alpha and Daisy (Van Hook) Brinson, both of whom are deceased. He married Mollie Shearer on May 10, 1968 in Upper Sandusky, and she passed away on August 30, 2021.

He is survived by his four children: Mike (Ina) Bowling of Columbus, Vickie (Sant) Dingus of Forest, Linda (Rob) Dapper of Galion, and Joe (Janet) Brinson of Centerburg, a daughter in law Christine Moses of Upper Sandusky, along with 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Vernon is also survived by his sister in laws, Delana Brinson of College Station, Texas, and Regina Brinson of Upper Sandusky, and brother in laws, Richard Puchta of Carey, and Harold Schryer of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mollie, a son, Douglas E. Moses, a great grandson, Isaiah Smith, a great granddaughter Jasmine Bowling, 2 brothers, Bernard and Vonice Brinson, and 3 sisters, Rosie Puchta, Doris Schryer, and Dakota Faye Critchfield.

Vernon graduated in 1958 from Upper Sandusky High School and went on to drive truck as an owner and operator for over 25 years. He was a member of Richland Road Church of Christ of Marion. Mt. Blanchard Rod & Gun Club, Wyandot Classics & Cruisers. For hobbies he enjoyed caring for his cars, camping, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Services for Vernon Brinson will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, January, 4, 2024 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Russell Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
