Tommy C. Chance

Tommy C. Chance, age 93, of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 03, 2015 at 9:15pm at Bucyrus Community Hospital in Bucyrus.

He was born on May 6, 1921 in Antrim Township, Wyandot County to Elmer and Mary Ellen (Klinger) Chance. He married B. Ruth Diebler on December 24, 1949 at St. John's U.C.C. in Bucyrus, and she passed away on January 15, 2002.

Tommy is survived by a daughter, Pamela (fiancAC. Dick Adams) Zarcone of Bucyrus, a son, Leonard E. Chance of Nevada, 5 grandchildren, Cassandra Brown, Paula (Casey) Easterday, David (Ashley) Zarcone, Kelly (Chad) Redmon, and Jessica (Chad) Kernell. Along with 7 great grandchildren, Melina Celestino, Anna Celestino, Chase Easterday, Clay Easterday, Camden Redmon, Callen Redmon and Joscelyn Kernel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 6 brothers, Jim, Vern, Robert, Wayne, Leroy and Dale, along with a sister Betty Mae Mollenkopf.

Tommy was a plasterer his entire life retiring in his eighties after many years. He also enjoyed farming.


Tommy was a member of the St John's United Church of Christ in Bucyrus. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S Army, and was a former member of the Bucyrus American Legion Post # 181.

For hobbies he enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, and farming.

Funeral services for Tommy C. Chance will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.

Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time.
