Thomas A. Althouse

Thomas A. Althouse, age 78, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 8:35pm at the Inn at Westbrook in Upper Sandusky.

Tom was born on December 25, 1934 in Antrim Township, Wyandot County, to Robert and Rowena ( Baublitz ) Althouse, both of whom are deceased. He married Linda Mawer on September 30, 1955 in Upper Sandusky, and she survives.

Tom is also survived by 3 children, Joe (Cindy) Althouse of Kenton, Amy (Mark) McIntyre of Bellefontaine, and Kevin (Tammy) Althouse of Auburn, Indiana. And 8 granchildren, Allison (Jason) Taylor, Melissa (Paul) Stanley, Ryan Althouse, Courtney Althouse, Patrick (Jackie Koerner) McIntyre, Lori (Troy) Wilson, Quinton Althouse and Cole Althouse. Along with 4 great grandchildren and a sister in law Carol Althouse.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Curtis Althouse.

He was a lifelong farmer and also worked at Guardian Industries in Upper Sandusky for 19 years. Before that he worked for McClain Construction in Upper Sandusky for many years.

Tom was an active member of the Wyandot County Farm Bureau and was an avid
Cleveland sports fan. He also enjoyed attending and supporting his grandkids sporting events through the years.

Public visitations for Thomas A. Althouse will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Funeral services v on Thursday will be private with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will take place at Nevada Cemetery.
