Susan Kay "Susie" Shepherd, age 81, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 5:15pm at the Wyandot County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Susie was born on January 24, 1943 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Robert D. and Margaret I (Walters) Miller. She married Daniel Shepherd on December 10, 1961 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky, and he passed away on August 3, 2003. Susie then married John "Ed" Warfel on April 7, 2007, and he survives.
She is survived by children: Rob (Leah) Shepherd of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Eileen (Douglas) Walton of Sycamore, and stepchildren: Ingrid (Bob) Britton of Prospect, Rob (Amy) Warfel of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Natalie (Chris) Frasure of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. 10 grandchildren also survive: Daniel Shepherd, Sonya Lewis, Shaina VanWormer, Trevor Mansfield, Megan Mansfield, Heather Mills, Jacob Newman, Lindsay Lewis, Lorraine Zaenger, and Darby Walton, along with 25 great grandchildren.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel Shepherd, and brother Thomas Miller.
She was a 1961 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, and a lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky. Susie also was a former member of the Rainbow Girls and the Warpole Chapter #366 Order of the Eastern Star.
Susie worked throughout her life starting as a bookkeeper for Wyandot Extrusion, then for Computers Plus, then as a secretary for Stansberry, Schoenberger & Scheck.
For hobbies, Susie enjoyed crocheting, doing jigsaw and word puzzles, going to car shows with Ed and with his 55 chevy, and she loved her cats.
Funeral services for Susie Shepherd will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Halter Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitations will be on Monday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home.
