Susan "Sue" Lee Padgett

Susan “Sue” Lee Padgett, age 88, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Anna Maria, Florida, passed away at 10:10 am, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at home in Upper Sandusky.

Sue was born on December 4, 1937, in Lansing, Michigan, to Charles and Frances (Rich) Bower. She was married to Robert “Bob” Padgett, and he preceded her in death.

Sue is survived by her children, Patrick Thompson of Snellville, GA, Suzi Thompson of Upper Sandusky, Darrell (Melia) Thompson of Bradenton, FL, and Jay (Cathy) Bartow of New Jersey. Susan is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Danielle (Zach) Stansbery of Upper Sandusky, Laine (Austin) Wise of Columbus, Hadley K. Thompson of St. Pete, FL, and 2 great grandchildren, Harper and Griffin Stansbery.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Linda and Julie.

Sue graduated from Florida State University, where she studied education and went on to teach for several years. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked in the bakery at Publix in Florida in more recent years.

Sue loved spending time at the beach, and especially loved her time living in Anna Maria, Florida. Sue was very free-spirited, and she enjoyed traveling, taking walks at Big Stone Mountain Park, and she loved animals – especially all her dogs.

Services for Sue will be private.
