Steven M. Spitler

Steven M. Spitler, 67, Upper Sandusky, passed away at 7:34pm on Friday, October 4, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born January 29, 1952 in Upper Sandusky, he was the son of Minor and Elma May (Bowen) Spitler. His father survives in Upper Sandusky. His mother preceded him in death.

He married Connie A. Thiel on October 1, 1971 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. Connie survives in Upper Sandusky, along with two children: Jeremy (Mandi) Spitler of Upper Sandusky and Jocelyn Lehnhart of Sycamore and five grandchildren: Jared and Jakob Lehnhart, Jenna Spitler, Harley Shaum and Tori Spitler.

He was preceded in death by a son in-law, Jeremy J. Lehnhart.

Steve was a 1970 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and attended Statzenberger College in Toledo.

Steve was co-owner of Thiel's Wheels in Upper Sandusky from 1978 to 2006.

Steve loved helping his family with construction and woodworking projects. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be cutting wood or boating on Lake Erie. He also had a passion for tinkering with cars, trucks and snowmobiles.

There will be no visitation or service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County and sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave, Upper Sandusky, OH. 43351.

Lucas-Batton Funeral Home has been given the privilege of serving Steve's family.
