Steve V. Johns

Steve V. Johns, age 56, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 5:25pm at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Steve was born on June 28, 1956 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Curtis LeRoy and Hazel (Kissling) Johns, both of whom are deceased. He married Shirley Alspach on May 19, 1979 in Upper Sandusky and she survives.

Also surviving are 3 children, Daisy (Cory) Sayre of Upper Sandusky, Paul (Leslie) Johns of Upper Sandusky and Kevin Johns of Upper Sandusky. Along with 5 grandchildren, Christian, Kylee and Jolton Sayre and Laila and Lakota Johns.

He is also survived by 3 brothers, Lester Johns of LaRue, Cliff (Mindy) Johns of Vanlue, Pat (Amy) Johns of Findlay.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Noggle and Gwendolyn, who died at infancy.

Steve worked for National Lime and Stone in Carey for 38 years where he did drilling and blasting for the company.

He was a 1975 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and also a member of the United Steel Workers Union #15050.

Steve enjoyed camping and was always keeping busy around the home and could be found many times tinkering with something in his garage.

Family was important to Steve, and he enjoyed time with them. Such as with his grandchildren, he enjoyed giving them rides on the tractor at home. And every weekend he spent with his wife Shirley, whether it was dinner out on Friday, and or a movie on Saturday, they were always together. He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service for Steve V. Johns will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Jim Stouffer officiating.

Visitatons will be held on Monday, from 1-3pm and 5-7pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
