Shirley A. (Porter) Ralph, age 78, of rural Morral, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at 3:10am in the Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

She was born on February 20, 1936 in Marion, Ohio to Frank and Minnie (Brammer) Porter. She married John E. Ralph on June 5, 1953 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion, and he survives.

Shirley is survived by her 4 children, Linda (Denny) Thomas of Harpster, Ohio, Dave Ralph of Harpster, Julie (Craig) Lindsay of Nevada, Ohio, and Darryl (Jill) Ralph of Morral. 8 grandchildren, John Thomas, Clint Thomas, Cheryl McKinniss, Courtney Frombaugh, Kaiti Von Koenel, Brett Ralph, Seth Sayre, Casey Moore, and 11 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother Larry Porter of Marion, and a sister Brenda (Terry) McKinley of Lexington, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister who died in infancy.

Shirley was a homemaker and helped out on the family farm. She also baked wedding cakes for over 30 years and also taught painting classes.

Shirley attended Green Camp High School and was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. She was a 39 year member of the Warpole Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #366 in Upper Sandusky, along with the Creator's Guild in Marion, Harpster Mother's Club and the former Variety Club.

For hobbies she enjoyed bowling in her younger years, playing cards and was a fan of Alan Jackson.

Shirley will be remembered for her strong Christian faith and love of her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Shirley A. Ralph will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Kevin Kehn and Rev. Becky King officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 14, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran, Hospice of Wyandot County, Fairhaven Home, or a charity of the donors choice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
