Shirley A. Light

Shirley A. Light, age 76, of Bucyrus and formerly of Nevada, Ohio passed away Sunday July 24, 2011 at the Bucyrus Community Hospital.

Shirley was born on March 11, 1935 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Dallas L. and Louise (Grover) Scott both of whom are deceased. She married Jack Light on March 19, 1961 at the Nevada Lutheran Church and he passed away on April 9, 1999.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Moll and Kevin (Monica) Light both of Bucyrus, four grandchildren, Lindsay Ann Powers, Nicholas Light, Noah Light, Isabella Light, and three great grandchildren, Camryn Powers, Avery Powers, and Emmi Powers.

Shirley is also survived by a brother, Ronald E. (Kaye) Scott of Bucyrus, and a sister, Judy (Edward "Yogi") Wheeler of Bucyrus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Anna Marie Didion.

Shirley retired from The Timken Co. in Bucyrus in 1991 after working 31 years.

Shirley was a member of the Nevada Lutheran Church, and a past member of the former Nevada Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

For hobbies Shirley enjoyed flowers, playing bingo, and spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Shirley A. Light will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Ray Lasalle officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
