While in High School, Shirley worked at Capri’s Sub Shop and met Melvin at the roller rink. After Shirley graduated in 1965, she went on to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Havre De Grace, MD, and then finished her working career at A/O Smith in Upper Sandusky where she worked for over 20 years.
Shirley loved spending time outside, whether that was sunbathing, relaxing on the lazy river, sitting on the swing, mowing the yard, trips to Ocean City or Tymochtee Creek, or a Dible family cookout. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and slots, watching movies – some of her favorites were Devil Wears Prada, and Murphy’s Romance. Shirley loved going on her weekly shopping trips to Gabe’s and TJ Maxx, which always included lunch at Applebee’s with Lisa, Cindy and Sierra. Shirley was a very kind and giving soul. Her family was her number one priority.
