Shirley N. Ackley

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley (Neff) Ackley announces her passing on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the age of 82 years at Kingston Residence Memory Care Unit.

She was born on April 10, 1935 in Mansfield, Ohio, to Delpha and Estelle (Sheaffer) Neff.  She married B. Huston Ackley on June 14, 1953 and he passed away on March 6, 1992.

Shirley will be missed by her children: Phyllis Ison, Bruce Ackley, Sharon Ackley-Schneider (Don Schneider), Mary Ackley, and Jane (Henry) Yanez. Shirley will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Andrea Holley, Ben (Jennifer) Holley, Michael Ackley, Austin (Marta) Ackley, Megan Schneider, Kelli (Stephen Crompton) Schneider, Katie (Anthony) Scheib, Amy Smith, Jake (Erika) Smith, Natalie Cundiff, and Cassidy Cundiff as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Michael F. Ackley, and a sister, Betty Moler,

Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Brush Ridge area and enjoyed her life on the farm as well as vacationing every summer in the Les Cheneaux Islands. Shirley always loved a good party and being with her family. Shirley has been a member of the Grand Prairie Cemetery Board since 2003.

Visitations for Shirley Ackley will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
