Sherry L. Cover, age 76, of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Sherry was born on December 4, 1948, in Tiffin, Ohio to Clarence and Ruth (Hushour) Dunlap, both of whom are deceased. She married William "Bill" Cover on June 29, 1968, in the Melmore United Methodist Church, and he survives.
She is also survived by her son Todd (Amy Volkmer) Cover of Nevada. Three grandchildren, Alyssa (Brice) Studer, Marcus Dale Cover, and Aaron Michael (Autumn) Cover, and a great granddaughter, Elora Studer, who shared a birthday with Sherry.
Sherry is also survived by her two sisters, Rebecca Gottfried of Melmore, and Dawn (Rick) Stuckert of Bucyrus, and a brother, Chris (Tess) Dunlap of Indianapolis, Indiana, along with many nieces and nephews.
A 1967 Wynford High School graduate, Sherry went on to attend OSU, and then started her own decorating business, Designs by Sherry, which she successfully ran for many years. After selling her business, Sherry went back to school, graduating from the Mt. Vernon Nazarene College with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Sherry had a deep love for the Village of Nevada, and played an integral part trying to better the village by starting the Nevada Business Association, spearheading the downtown revitalization plan, and even renovating opening the Nevada Bed & Breakfast.
She loved the Lord and was a member of the Marion Central Baptist Church for many years, and true to her character, was very active in the church.
Sherry had many passions, playing the piano, cooking, gardening and tending to her Koi pond, along with caring for other animals that she befriended.
Funeral services for Sherry Cover will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Eric Duenke officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and 1 hour before service time on Wednesday.
