Samuel Frederick Sigler, age 54, of Harpster, Ohio died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 6:12pm at Grant-Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Sam was born on December 20, 1954 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Harley and Ruth (Sammet) Sigler.

Sam is survived by his mother, Ruth Sigler of Harpster. A son, Samuel Mitchell Sigler at home, and a sister Robbi Sigler of Cumberland, Maryland.

Sam was a 4th generation farmer, having farmed with his father Harley and in later years with his son Mitchell.

Sam was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was a member of the Wyandot County Farm Bureau and FFA Alumni Association. He was a 1973 graduate of Wynford High School where he was active in FFA and 4H, having been elected as the Junior Fair King during the Wyandot County Fair. Sam also attended Agricultural Technical Institute at Wooster. For hobbies he enjoyed cooking, vegetable gardening, and spending time with his son.

Funeral Services for Samuel F. Sigler will be held at 10:00am Saturday, February 7 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
The Rev.'s Robert Hamilton and Charles Steward officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be Friday, February 6, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and
6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to FFA-USHS, or Wyandot County 4-H Foundation, or Wyandot Memorial Hospital and can be sent to Lucas Batton Funeral Home, 401 S. Main St. Nevada, OH 44849.
