Ruth E. Wilt, age 88, passed away on April 18, 2020, at her home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Ruth was born on May 3, 1931, in Wyandot County to Arnold and Mamie (Bowers) Beamer. Ruth married Robert F. Wilt on April 21, 1961, in Tiffin, Ohio and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2013.

She is survived by her children: Dennis R. (Laura) Young of Nevada, Thomas A. Young of Upper Sandusky, Lisa A. (Peter) Barnes of Upper Sandusky, and a step-son Robert A. Wilt of Tiffin. Along with 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Jody Wilt of Ravenna, Ohio, a sister, Peggy (Harry "Red") Dillion of Harpster, and two sisters-in-law; Helen Beamer of Upper Sandusky and Barbara Beamer of Harpster.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, a son Jeffrey Wilt, a daughter Vicki Young, and her siblings; Louise Hare, Thelma Myers, Clifford Beamer, Dwight Beamer, and Janet Young.

Ruth graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in the class of 1950. Along with working tirelessly raising her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was multi-talented, able to handle any task inside or outside of the home. During her long life, she held many jobs including; cigar roller, hospital aide, worker at Timken Rollerbearing Co., election poll worker, upholsterer with Jean Byrd, and was President and CEO of Wilt-Mark Card Co.

Ruth was a woman of faith and an active member of Union-Salem United Methodist Church.

She loved her community and believed in giving back in any way she could: helping at the local food pantry, blood donor, 4-H advisor for the Eden Sunbeams, volunteering at Wyandot County Fair; including the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild.

Ruth always maintained a positive attitude, a radiant smile, and cheerful laughter.

Writing was a passion for Ruth. Her poetry and stories brought joy to many family and friends.

She loved baking, singing in the church choir, and with her sisters, clogging, square-dancing, camping, making crafts at the Senior Connection, and laughing and "misbehaving" with her friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Kristen Buchs officiating.

Due to Covid-19, a public Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Council on Aging or Union-Salem United Methodist Church, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton at 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
