Ruth L. Taylor, age 94, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Caledonia, Ohio.
Ruth was born on August 1, 1920 in Upper Sandusky, to the late Otto and May (Heffelfinger) Strub. She married H. Russell Taylor on November 14, 1951 at the Crawford Methodist Church and he survives in Caledonia.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Jane (James F. ) Williams of Carey, Ohio, Joyce (Jack) Oehlers of Upper Sandusky, Joann (Larry) Gault of Forest, Judy (Jeff) Taylor of Caledonia, and a son, Carl (Stacy) Taylor of Upper Sandusky. 11 grandchildren: Cory Taylor, Brad Taylor, Makaela Taylor, Kolby Taylor, Holly Baldwin, Ashley Webb, Jordan Burns, Heather Button, Amy Pinion, Kelly McCloud, Kylie Cummings. Along with 5 step grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Ruth is also survived by a sister, Carol Mooney of Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Strub.
Ruth retired from East Elementary School as a cook and before that she had worked at Albert's, North Electric, Kimmel Cleaners and Baker's Party Store.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, where she helped out for many years in the nursery.
For hobbies she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, genealogy, and going to Mother's Club. She also enjoyed going with Russell on daily drives throughout Wyandot County and Ohio.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Ruth L. Taylor will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Dennis Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens in Marion.
Visitations will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral service, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
After the graveside services there will be a reception at the home of Jeff and Judy Taylor, 2596 Caledonia Northern Rd. , Caledonia, Ohio, 43314.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marion General Hospice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
