Ruth E. Stumpp

Ruth E. Stumpp, age 85, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 01, 2012 at 4:10AM at Bridge Hospice in Findlay, Ohio.

Ruth was born on September 2, 1927 in Hardin County, Ohio to Frederick and Emma ( Wolford) Hensel, both of whom are deceased. She married Earl W. Stumpp on July 13, 1946 in Greenup, Kentucky and he died on May 7, 2012.

Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Ellis of Orrville, Ohio, Rhonda (David) Allenick of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Kathie (Keith) Barga of Sylvania, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Jeffery (Barb) Ellis, James (Kim) Ellis, Brian Allenick, Rachel Allenick, Garrett (Brynn) Barga, Stephanie (Paul) Landis and Gregory (Michelle) Barga, eight great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Clarence (Melba Jean) Hensel of Kenton and 3 sisters, Lorraine (Robert) Bower of Marion, Carol (Sherman) McKinnis of Palm Springs, CA, and Darlene (Dal) Heckathorn of Kenton.

She was preceded in death by a brother Lloyd and 2 sisters, Ervilla Lambert and Sharon Kay Hensel.

Ruth retired from General Telephone Co. of Marion in 1983 after 22 years of service, retiring from the rates and revenue division of the company. Before that she had worked for Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies Ruth enjoyed doing embroidery and crocheting and was a devoted caregiver, having taken care of her parents, an aunt and of her husband Earl before his death in May. She loved her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral Services for Ruth E. Stumpp will be at 12:00PM Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Rick Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time at the funeral home on Saturday.
