Ruth E. Hoy

Ruth Elizabeth Hoy, age 68, of Upper Sandusky made her final journey to her family homestead, where she went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 4:00pm on Sunday February 22.

She was born November 18, 1940 to Ira and Esther (Rutan) Bear. She married Herman Joseph Hoy on March 28, 1959, he proceeded her in death on March 2, 1994.

She is survived by her 5 children; Christine (Douglas) Moses of Kirby, Melodee (Dennis Jackson) Hoy of Reynoldsburg, N. Jon Hoy of Forest, Matthew (Donna) Hoy of Bucyrus, and Daniel (Lisa) Hoy of Upper Sandusky.
2 sisters Iris Reyes of Cincinnati and Julia (Robert) Lessig of Ashland and 1 sister-in-law Betty Bear of Tiffin.
5 grandchildren; Brian Moses of Kihei, Hawaii, Joshua Moses of Kirby, Cassandra Hoy and Joseph Hoy of Upper Sandusky, and a loving step granddaughter Ashley (Edward) Perry, who gave Ruth her only great grandchild Aiden Perry. 11 nieces and nephews also survive. Proceeding her in death were her husband, parents, a brother Robert Bear, and a brother-in-law Tony Reyes.

She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, doing her family geneology research, and going on beach vacations. She also enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities. She supported Wxml Radio, MADD, and Habitat for Humanity.

Funeral services for Ruth E. Hoy will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, February 25 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations will be Tuesday, February 24 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
