Ruth A. Hetzel, age 81, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 12:35AM at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
Ruth was born on August 21, 1931 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Howard and Edith (Clinger) Stoneburner, both of whom are deceased. She married Richard Hetzel on June 29, 1952 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and he survives.
Ruth is survived by 4 children, Michael (Norma) Hetzel of Upper Sandusky, Michele (Henry) Teters of Bucyrus, Ohio, Kyle (Rita) Hetzel of Upper Sandusky and Kelly (David) Rowe of Upper Sandusky.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Phillip (Hillary) Hetzel of Delaware, Ohio, Jason Hetzel of San Diego, California, Roger (Jessica) Hetzel of Bucyrus, Curtis Teters of Bucyrus, Connor Teters of Bucyrus, Melissa (Todd) Roszman of Upper Sandusky, Brandon (Valarie) Hetzel of Upper Sandusky, Derek (Roshelle) Rowe of Bucyrus and Allison (Andreas) Mueller of Sycamore. Along with 9 great grandchildren, Dominic and Jake Hetzel, Ryker Hetzel, Gage and Cole Roszman, Hunter Hetzel, Mallory and Jaclyn Rowe, and Aniela Muellerone and one great granddaughter (by Allison) that will be arriving very soon. A sister in law Connie Stoneburner and a very special family member, Maggie Bower, both of Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Snyder and 2 brothers, Ralph and Irvin Stoneburner.
Ruth was a homemaker and also had worked in her later years for the former
Upper Drug Store in Upper Sandusky. She was a long time member of the St Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and enjoyed spending time at the Wyandot County Council on Aging in Upper Sandusky.
For hobbies Ruth was an avid bingo player, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing cards, especially euchre and pinochle. She enjoyed baking and making cookies for her family and friends.
Ruth will be remembered for her love and devotion of being a homemaker and the many ways that she blessed Richard and the kids all through the years.
Funeral services for Ruth A. Hetzel will be held at 10:30am Monday, August 19, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Joe Trester officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, August 18, from 2:00PM to 7:00PM at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
