Ruth F. Bardon, age 95, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 8:14am at the Inn at Westbrook, in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on May 27, 1920 in Bloomville, Ohio, to Harley J. and Virginia (Holmes) Wolf, both of whom are deceased. She married Thomas F. "24TB" Bardon on March 20, 1941 at the John Stewart United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, and he passed away on April 17, 2003.

She is survived by 2 children, Robert (Pati) Bardon, and Barb (Dan) Saull, both of Upper Sandusky, 6 grandchildren, Megan (Jason) Myers, Jacob Bardon, Alex (Lori) Bardon, Sydney Ruttmann, Scott Ruttmann and Samantha Ruttmann. 2 step grandchildren, Jeremy (April) Saull, Tyson (Kelly) Saull, and 14 great grandchildren.

Ruth is also survived by 2 sisters, Dorothy V. Wolfe of Upper Sandusky, Edith Loverich of Valparaiso, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Virginia Sue Bardon, 3 sisters, Ellen Comte, Marie Bush, Emadel Cole, and a brother Nelson Wolf.


Ruth graduated from Salem Centralized High School in 1938, she went on to the Tiffin Business College.

She was homemaker and a retired bookkeeper.

Ruth was a member of the John Stewart United Methodist Church for over 75 years, where she was active with Grace-Davis Myrta Moody Circle, United Methodist Women, where she served as a treasurer for 10 years, the WTP and Fidelitus Sunday School Class and also sang in the church choir for 52 years.

She was a member of the Wyandot County Democrat Club, where she served as secretary for 10 years.

Ruth interests included the love of reading, writing letters, sending greeting cards, playing cards, solving word and crossword puzzles, following the Ohio State, especially basketball, and the Cleveland Brown football games, bus trips, dinner theater and concerts. She also enjoyed her winters in Florida for 20 years, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ruth F. Bardon will be private with Rev. Jay Scott officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or the John Stewart U.M.C. and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
