Russell W. "Pinky" Heffelfinger

Russell W. "Pinky" Heffelfinger, age 78, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 5:10am at his Home in Upper Sandusky.

Russell was born on March 22, 1933 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to James C. and M. Alice (Hall) Heffelfinger, both of whom are deceased. He married Marilyn Plott on September 1, 1951 and she is deceased. Russell then married Jeananne (Cook) Lee on February 20, 1976 in Upper Sandusky and she survives.

Russell is survived by five children, Beverly J. (Charles) Walton of Upper Sandusky, Chuck R. Heffelfinger of Arcadia, Cheryl A. (Steve) Leeth of Upper Sandusky, Rusty Heffelfinger of Carey, and Gerald W. Heffelfinger of Carey, three step children, Ric Lee of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeff Lee of Galloway and Lisa (Jack) Whitney of St. Louis, Missouri along with 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Carol King of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, William "Joey" Heffelfinger and a brother, Clair Eugene Heffelfinger.

Russell was a 1951 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. He retired from A.O. Smith in Upper Sandusky after 33 years working in the sample lab at the time of his retirement.

Russell was a member of Community Christian Center in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies Russell enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and playing cards.

Funeral services for Russell W. "Pinky" Heffelfinger will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 22 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Pastor Bill Williamson officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Thursday July 21 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
