Ruby M. Krock, age 85, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio
passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 5:00pm in
the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
Ruby was born on September 30, 1924 in Van Buren Township, Hancock County to Philip and Amanda (Neff) Essinger. She married Paul F. Krock on August 17, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church and he died November 17, 1996.
Ruby is survived by a daughter Christine (Ron) Kemerley of Arlington, Ohio, and a son John (Becky) Krock of Upper Sandusky and a daughter in law, Tina Krock of Upper Sandusky.
Three grandchildren also survive, Jason Kemerley, James (Jessica) Kemerley, Tim Krock, and a great granddaughter Jamie Lynn Kemerley. There is also a family that was special to Ruby, Mark (Stephanie) Beaschler and their children Morgan and Jacob.
She was preceded in death by a son Denny Krock and sisters Estella Essinger, Catherine Essinger, Alma Essinger and Evelyn Traucht.
Ruby was a homemaker and retired from Automated Petroleum and Schilling Propane, both located in Upper Sandusky. She had also worked at one time for the following businesses, Goodman Grain and Supply, Eagle Nest Hatchery and Grafmiller Sohio.
She was a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was active with the Women of the Church where she held almost every officer position in the church. She was a 50 year member of the Music Club of Upper Sandusky, Charter member of the Lioness Club, and a member of the American Legion Auxillary both in Upper Sandusky. She served on the board of the Wyandot County Historical Society and served for over 25 years with the Election Board in Wyandot County. She also sang with the 8th Notes Barber Shop Quartet and served as an advisor with the Luther League.
For hobbies Ruby enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking many different things, such as cookies, coffee cakes, bread, pies and making homemade noodles for family and for the farmers market. She enjoyed doing things as a family such as making apple butter during the county fair and cornhusker festival in Upper Sandusky to butchering on the farm. She also played cards.
A funeral will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday, March 3 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Joe Trester officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be Tuesday, March 2 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home
in Upper Sandusky and 1 hour before service time at the church on Wednesday.
