Rosalyn Mary Iles

August 12, 1937 — August 4, 2018

Rosalyn Mary (Myers) Iles, 80, passed peacefully into heaven on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Heartland of Bucyrus Skilled Nursing Care in Bucyrus, Ohio.

Born in Harpster, Ohio on August 12, 1937, Rosalyn was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Majel (Childs) Myers.  She married Larry Iles on March 14, 1953 and they were blessed to share 53 devoted and loving years together.  He preceded her in death in 2007.  She attended Harpster High School and received an associate degree from OSU in 1996.

Rosalyn was a loving stay-at-home mother.  A true nurturer, she devoted herself to children whether babysitting, working as a teacher's aide, or tutoring in her home.

Her family, faith in God, and personal relationship with Jesus Christ were her strength and hope in life and her encouragement to others who knew her. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion and later attended Bucyrus Assembly of God for many years.  She taught children's church, Sunday school, and numerous Bible studies.  She was also a member of Nevada's Mother's Club.

Rosalyn faced the challenge of becoming legally blind at age 30.  She started a Low Vision Support group in Bucyrus to help others adjust to vision loss and it is still active today.  She loved tea parties, collecting pretty dishes, and her later years her Shih tzu Sammy, brought her much joy.  She also enjoyed making crafts (especially with her grandchildren) and was an avid reader and traveler.

Surviving are four daughters and one son: Jackie Iles of Bucyrus; Patti (Erny) James of Maryville, TN; LuAnn (Tom) Kneubuhler of Woodburn, IN; Eileen (Charlie) Trupia of Ronkonkoma, NY and Neil (Cheryl) Iles of Harpster.  Granchildren include Derek (Beth) Gabriel, Austin (Ashley) James, Karissa Kneubuhler, Kyle (Jasmine) Kneubuhler, Evan Trupia, and Alexis (Pete) Sciolto.  Great-grandchildren are Josh (Whitney) Koehler, Aaron and Cody Gabriel, Decklyn and Romey Kneubuhler, and Lainey James.  Great- great grandchild is Lucille Koehler.  Two sisters, Marilyn Thomas and Sara Lynn Gier of Upper Sandusky, OH and a brother, Michael Myers of Perrysburg, OH also survive. One grandchild, Charles Trupia, preceded her in death.

A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, August 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Harpster United Methodist Church in Harpster.  Rosalyn will be laid to rest at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge.
