Rosalinda "Rosie" Oberlander, age 73, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away at the home of her sister, Tooter, on Monday, February 12, 2024 in Nevada.
Rosie was born on September 11, 1950, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to the late Harry L. Young, and Joann (Lantz) Young, who survives in Nevada. She married Richard W. "Obie" Oberlander on July 26, 1976, and he passed away on May 13, 1998.
She is also survived by her sisters, Anita (Tom) DeFrieze of Vanlue, Chris Palmer of Nevada, Tooter Wright of Nevada, and a nephew DJ (Sarah) Bollinger of Nevada, and 3 step daughters, Laurie (Logan) Cooper of Bucyrus, Dawn (Jim) Henson of Medina, and Holly (Chad) Starner of Bucyrus, a sister in law Virginia (Vernie) Beach of Caledonia, a special friend, Sareena Miller of Upper Sandusky, and her loyal fur baby, Buddy.
Rosie was preceded in death by her father Harry, the love of her life Dick, and her grandmother, Hazel Lantz.
She was a 1968 graduate of Wynford High School and went on to be a waitress for many years at the former Finger's Corner Restaurant outside of Nevada.
Rosie enjoyed camping with Dick for several years at Sunset Springs in Oceola. She loved to feed all the birds, and was known to make some of the best potato salad. Rosie also liked to relax by reading a good book, and spending time at Buck's Bar and Grill, "where friends gather".
Graveside Services Celebrating the Life of Rosie Oberlander will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Nevada Cemetery with Pastor Steve Sturgeon officiating.
