Ronald L. Grandstaff, age 87, of Sycamore, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Ron was born on July 22, 1938, in Sycamore, Ohio, to Homer Glen and Emma Aurian (Flemming) Grandstaff, both of whom are deceased. He was once married to Sandy Amstuz.
Ron is survived by his sister, Mary Hiatt of Los Banos, California, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Grandstaff.
Ron was a 1956 graduate of Sycamore High School, and shortly after graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy having served on the USS Kidd Destroyer as a storekeeper, 2nd Class Petty Officer. After he was discharged, Ron went on to work for the Timken Company in Bucyrus, in the finishing department, retiring after 30 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #250 in Sycamore, and a member of the former Amvets #777 of Upper Sandusky.
Ron was a member of the Enterprise Lodge #579, DeMolay Commandery 009, Knights Templar of Tiffin, Grand Council Royal and Select Masons Clinton council #44 of Tiffin, OES Warpole Chapter #266 Upper Sandusky, Acient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Zenobia Shrine, Toledo.
Funeral service for Ronald Grandstaff will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Sycamore United Church of Christ with Pastor Darrin Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.
