Ronald I. Frey

Ronald I. Frey, age 73, of Kirby, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11:15pm at his home in Kirby.

He was born on February 4, 1937 in Kirby to Raymond and Arlys (Kentfield) Frey, both of whom are deceased. He married Linda Packer on April 11, 1959 at the rectory of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kirby and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Vicki Delany of Lewis Center, Ohio, Lisa Thiel of Upper Sandusky, Ray (Jane) Frey of Upper Sandusky, Karl (Meg) Frey of Chicago, Illinois, Lydia ( Toby) Wagner of Delaware and Todd (Stacy) Frey of Upper Sandusky. Along with 11 grandchildren, Travis (Katie) Thiel, Kelle (Tyson) Saull, Ashley Thiel, Keith Thiel, Sarah Frey, Audrey Frey, Nicholas Frey, Katherine Frey, Hannah Frey, Gage Frey and Gavin Frey, 4 step grandchildren, Zach Delany, Isaiah Delany, Lindsey Wagner and Logan Wagner, 5 great grandchildren, Ava Saull, Keagan Iles, Kaidance Iles, Kaiman Iles and Keileigh Iles and 1 step great grandchild, Vera Delany.


Ronald is also survived by 4 sisters, Edna "Cook" (Mark) Davidson of Nevada, Martha Wagner of Carey, Evelyn (Paul) Bouillon of New Riegel, Elizabeth (Francis) Reiter of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by a son Galen Frey, granddaughter Jenna Frey, a brother Paul Frey, sister Kate Bouillon and 2 brother in laws, Bernard Bouillon and Alfred Wagner.

Ronald owned and operated RKT Construction for 20 years and for 35 years he worked for Snyder's Lumber Company in Carey and Vanlue.

He was a lifelong parishioner of the Transfiguration of the Lord - St. Mary's Chapel in Kirby. He also was on the Village Council in Kirby for 45 years. His memberships included the American Legion #344 and Carey Eagles Aerie #2198, both located in Carey.

Ronald had a passion for his carpentry and also enjoyed playing cards, watching NASCAR and westerns.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2011 from 2 - 8 p.m. at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. A Scripture service will be at 7:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 25, 2011 at 10:30am at the Transfiguration of the Lord - St. Mary's Chapel in Kirby, OH. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Kirby.
