Robert F. Wilt, age 88, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away
On Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:26PM at the Fairhaven
Community in Upper Sandusky.

Robert was born on January 30, 1925 in Tiffin, Ohio to William and Minnie (Mathias) Wilt both of whom are deceased. He married Ruth E. Beamer on April 21, 1961 in Tiffin, Ohio and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Also surviving are their children, Robert A. (Cheryl) Wilt of Tiffin, Dennis R. (Laura) Young of Nevada, Thomas A. (Patricia) Young of Bucyrus and daughter, Lisa A. (Peter) Barnes of Upper Sandusky. Along with 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and a daughter in law, Jody Wilt of Ravenna, Ohio.


Bob was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Wilt and a daughter Vicki Young, a brother William and 2 sisters Nellie Wilt and Virginia Dunlap.


Bob was retired from General Electric in Tiffin after 39 years as a machine operator. After his retirement he worked as a driver for the Wyandot County Council on Aging for 18 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served his country during World War II.

Bob was a member for over 50 years of the Union-Salem United Methodist Church in rural Upper Sandusky. He was also a member of the following organizations; American Legion Post 225 in Upper Sandusky and a former member of the Legion Post in Sycamore, Wyan-Dots Camping Club, and the Bucyrus Buckaroos Square Dancing Club and participated every year at the Leafy Oak Coon Dog Trials in Kenton.

For hobbies, Bob enjoyed being outside, whether it was working on the yard or in the garden, hunting for deer and especially coon, bowling various leagues in Tiffin, Sycamore and Upper Sandusky, going to garage sales, and taking care of his cats, "Bootsy" and "Kitsy".

Funeral services for Robert F. Wilt will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Matt Garrabrant officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.

Visitations will be held on Friday, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Union-Salem U.M.C., Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Wyandot County Council on Aging or the American Heart Association and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
