Robert B. Sipe Sr

Robert B. Sipe Sr., age 84, of rural Nevada, died Saturday,
March 14, at 11:35am at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

Robert was born on March 5, 1925 in Central City, PA to Henry G. and Mary Ella G. (Sipes) Sipe, both of whom are deceased.

He married Mary Katharine "Katie" Bell on April 4, 1946 in Oceola and she died January 27, 2003.

Surviving are a son, Bobby (Sharlene) Sipe Jr. of Nevada. Four daughters: Linda (Bill) Gerlach of Eugene, OR; Janie (Steve) Parsell of Sycamore: Betty Vince of Mansfield and Joanne (Jeff) Bovee of Findlay.

He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, along with a sister Lena Pollock of Bucyrus.

He was preceded in death by 10 brothers: Judd, Raymond, Bill, Carl, Earnest, Guy, Earl, Cloyd, Harold, and Lester, and 4 sisters: Carrie, Laura, Edna, and Dorothy.

Robert was employed primarily with Coby's in Bucyrus for many years. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy on the USS Yorktown.

He was a member of Our Master's Chapel in Benton. And for hobbies, Robert enjoyed doing crafts, fishing, driving and visiting friends and just being outside, whether in the garden or mowing his yard.

Funeral services for Robert B. Sipe Sr. will be at 1:00pm Thursday, March 19 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, with the Rev. Charles McGlone officiating.Burial will take place at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be Wednesday, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
