Robert F. Morris, age 69, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away
on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 8:35pm at Fairhaven Retirement & Healthcare Community in Upper Sandusky after a lengthy battle with liver disease. Bob had been on a waiting list for the past year and a half for a transplant.
Robert was born on January 15, 1942 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Marshall H. and Nola A. (Young) Morris both of whom are deceased. He married Patricia "Pat" (Markley) Morris on February 24, 1962 in Genoa, Ohio and she survives in Upper Sandusky.
Also surviving Robert are three children, Cindy Sites and her fiancAC. Dave Bacon of Upper Sandusky, Nicole "Susan" Morris of Upper Sandusky, and Steve (Rhonda) Morris of Marion, Ohio, and four grandchildren, Taylor Sites, Ben Morris, Henry Morris, and Lucas Morris.
Robert is also survived by two brothers, Donald (Cleo) Morris of Kenton, Ohio and Jim (Donna) Morris of Upper Sandusky, and three sisters, Betty Shumaker, Shirley Rowland and Colleen Karg all of Upper Sandusky.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Morris, and a sister, Miriam Fagan.
Robert retired from A.O. Smith having worked in the tool and die department for many years. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky and was a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School Class of 1960.
For hobbies Robert enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, golfing, and he was a diehard Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He also followed NASCAR, especially the late Dale Earnhardt, and most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Graveside Services for Robert F. Morris will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Old Mission Cemetery with the Rev. Brad McKibben officiating the service.
Following the service at the cemetery on Saturday, family and friends are invited to a luncheon to be served in the Community Room of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Wyandot County, or the American Liver Foundation in care of the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
