Robert "Bob" D. Boerger

October 18, 1936 — December 9, 2016

Robert D. "Bob" Boerger, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 9, at 5:02pm at the home of his sister in Findlay, Ohio.

He was born on October 18, 1936 in Putnam County, Ohio, to Edgar and Helen (Jackson) Boerger, both of whom are deceased.  He was married Donna Sandridge and she passed away on November 16, 1982

Bob is survived by 2 sons: Dean Boerger of Columbus, Darren Boerger of Clyde, and a daughter, Robin Boerger of Upper Sandusky.  4 grandchildren, Donna Marie Partin, Samantha Boerger, Denise Rae Summers, and David Keith Williams, and with 2 great grandchildren, Delilah and Emma.

He is also survived by 3 sisters: Mary Alice Dorman, Anna Mae Boerger, and Jeannette (Jack) Bruno, all of Findlay, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a grandson Aaron Boerger, a brother and sister in law, Don and Levine Boerger.

Bob was a truck driver for over 45 years driving currently for ESS of Findlay, and at one time for Conway Trucking in Upper Sandusky.

He was a member of Transfiguraton of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, and also was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War.

For hobbies Bob enjoyed doing yardwork, carpentry and woodworking, going every Sunday to the movies, and eating at the Red Pig Inn, Ottawa.

Funeral services for Robert D. Boerger will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, December 14, at the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky with Rev. J.R. Hadnagy O.F.M. Conv officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society for Research or The Basilica & Nation Shrine of OLC and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
