Robert Joe “Rob” Cartwright, age 77, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Marion General Hospital.
Rob was born on February 6, 1949, in Athens, Ohio, to Wilbur and Ada (Keirns) Cartwright. He married Suzanne “Sue” Ash on October 16, 1987, and she survives.
He is also survived by his 2 daughters: Trinda (Bret) Keber of VanWert, and her children, Jacob and Parker, and Teresa (Robert) Long of Marion, and her children, Kayli (Zach) and her son Myles, Mitchell, Preston, Bailey, and Haley, and grandchild Myles, along with a stepson, Jay (April) Rhoden of Marysville, and his children Alex and Drew, and a step daughter, Ivy (Rich) Siley of Williamstown, WV., and her children Abbey, Maggie, and Wyatt.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James (Patsy) Cartwright, and William (Alice) Cartwright.
After graduating from high school, Rob went on to serve his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, Rob went on to work for the former Eaton and Dana Axle Company in Marion.
For hobbies Rob enjoyed mowing and taking care of his yard, listening to music, especially CCR, John Fogerty, and country music in general, and following the Browns and Buckeyes. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog, Gunny.
Funeral services for Robert Joe Cartwright will be held at 1:00pm Friday, March 13, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Ray LaSalle officiating. Following services, Military Rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard at the funeral home.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time, from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society or a Humane Society of your choice. Memorials can be forwarded to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
