Robert E. "Bud" Parsell

Robert E. "Bud" Parsell of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 7:15pm at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Bud was born on September 4, 1929 in Forest, Ohio to Avery and Mildred (Pisel) Parsell, both of whom are deceased. He married Arlene Heffelfinger on July 17, 1948 at the York Street Christian Church and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

He is also survived by his children, a son Gary and his wife Jean, Parsell of Upper Sandusky, and a daughter Diane and her husband Jeff, Grossman of Upper Sandusky. 7 grandchildren, Stacy Wilson, Amanda Burkett, Megan Frey, Matt Parsell, Sarah Parsell, David Gibson and Ann Gibson and 13 great grandchildren.
Also Bud is survived by his sister Shirley Pryor of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Linda Brown and Hazel Nutter.

Bud retired after over 40 years of owning and operating Parsell Plumbing and Heating in Upper Sandusky having started his business in 1961 and through the
years working alongside his son Gary who continues the business today. The early years of Bud's career started with his father in law, L.H. Heffelfinger and his well
drilling and plumbing business.


Bud was a life member of the BPOE #83 and a member of the American Legion Post # 225 along with Stone Crossing, all in Upper Sandusky. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the Navy. Bud also was a member of the former Jaycees of Upper Sandusky and along with the group was instrumental in the start of Little Baseball located behind the former AO Smith/Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies he enjoyed working outside especially mowing and woodworking and building wooden pieces for others, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services for Robert E. "Bud" Parsell will be private with burial taking
place at Old Mission Cemetery where Bud will receive military graveside rites conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.

There will be no public visitation and in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital and The Wyandot County Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers Therapy Center Fund and both can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
