Rick J. Strausbaugh

Rick J. Strausbaugh, age 64, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away at 6:42 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio.

Rick was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on February 26, 1958, to Richard E. and Rosetta E. (Brickner) Strausbaugh.

Rick is survived by his daughters: Danielle (Nick) Boes of Forest, and Kasie (Kyle) Merical of Winston-Salem, NC, and his grandchildren: Scarlett, Maverick, and Trinity. Rick is also survived by his brother Dennis (Kathy) Strausbaugh of Republic, sister Karen Plott of Upper Sandusky, sister in law Tina Strausbaugh of Tiffin, former spouse Janet Coppus of Upper Sandusky, and six nieces and nephews: Alexandra Plott, Samuel Plott, Nicole Bischoff, Aaron Strausbaugh, Kelly MacMillan, and Ryan Strausbaugh.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Edward and William Strausbaugh, and his brother in law David Plott.

Rick attended Hopewell Loudon for most of his high school career and then graduated early from St. Francis High School in Tiffin, Ohio. He was a boiler operator, air tool repair technician, and production associate for various manufacturers in the region; along with being an innovative investor and superior repairman. Most recently he worked for Kasai in Upper Sandusky.

Rick enjoyed tending to his garden, studying history, and loved politics.  He was well known for planning fun family vacations and weekend getaways. Rick was very handy and was always working on projects around the house. He loved relaxing in the pool and spending time with his family – especially his grandkids.

A private service for Rick will be held with Deacon Kevin Wintersteller officiating.

A public visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, OH.
