Richard J. Smith

Richard J. Smith, age 75, of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Richard was born on February 16, 1946 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Kenneth and Ruth (Sheaffer) Smith, both of whom are deceased.

He is survived by his 3 nephews, Greg (Bea) Smith, Randy Smith, and Mike (Ellen) Smith.

Richard was preceded in death by his brother and sister in law, Edwin and Geraldine (Gerry) Smith.

He graduated from the first graduating class of Ridgedale High School and went on to serve his country in the US Army, having worked in the Pentagon.

Richard retired from GTE in Marion after many years.

Richard was a lifelong member of Wyandot Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Richard J. Smith will be private with burial at Nevada Cemetery.
