Richard "Dick" E. Dennison, age 72, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of North Robinson, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 8:45 am at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born on April 9, 1937 in Lancaster, Ohio to Wilbur J. and Waveline (Congrove) Dennison both of whom are deceased. He married Evelyn J. Wilson on July 14, 1956 in Vanlue, Ohio and she survives in Upper Sandusky.
Dick is also survived by four sons, Mike E. (Shari) Dennison of Bucyrus, Ohio, Mark A. (Kathy) Dennison of Powell, Ohio, Jim L. (Tricia) Dennison of Corning, New York, and Tim L. Dennison of Erie, Michigan. Seven grandchildren: Drew and his wife Shannon, Darek, Danelle, Brittany, Sean, Hannah, and Leah.
He is also survived by a brother, Don "Buck" (Bev) Dennison of Fostoria, Ohio, and two sisters, Pat (Don) Tong of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and Nancy Frederick of Findlay, and a sister in law: Helen Dennison of Bucyrus.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Kenner and Linda Lane and three brothers, Wilbur "Bill", Fredrick A. and Charles W. Dennison. He is also preceded in
death by a brother in law, Tom Fredrick.
Dick graduated from Carey High School in 1955. He then went on to work at The Timken Co. for over 36 years as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. For hobbies, Dick enjoyed reading, golfing, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.
Funeral Services for Richard E. Dennison will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. David Roach officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Arthur James Cancer Center or the Wyandot Memorial Hospital and may be sent in care of the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
