Richard A. Bennett

Richard A. Bennett, age 78, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio
died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 1:58am at the Fairhaven
Retirement and Healthcare Community in Upper Sandusky.

He was born on October 13, 1930 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Charley and Lulu (Motter) Bennett, both of whom are deceased.
He married Carolyn Joyce Shaffer on October 16, 1955 in Beech Grove Church, Carey Ohio and she survives.

Also surviving are 3 sons, Douglas Bennett of Upper Sandusky, Mark Bennett of Harpster and Dirk(Alexis) Bennett of Upper Sandusky, along with 5 grandchildren, Sara, Benjamin, Brooke, Jevin and Kaitlin.

He was preceded in death by a brother Edward Bennett and a sister Lucile Bennett.

Richard was retired after many years of employment from Crow Motor Sales in Upper Sandusky where he managed the auto body repair shop. Before that, he had worked as a body man for John H. Neate Garage in Upper Sandusky. He was a graduate of the class of 1950 from Upper Sandusky High School and a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army.

He was a member for over 50 years with Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies, Richard enjoyed making many things out of wooden popsicle sticks along with
doing pencil drawings. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed
following the Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. And Richard also
loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
