Rebecca "Reba" M. Lautermilch, age 88, of Findlay, and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 3:44 AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio.
Reba was born on September 18, 1933, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Dwight and Cleofa (Wylie) Morris and they preceded her in death. She was married to Dr. Thomas H. Lautermilch at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio, on July 25, 1959, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2019.
Reba is survived by her 3 children: Joel Lautermilch of South Lyon, Michigan, and Lisa Lautermilch of Findlay, Ohio, Tim (Barb) Lautermilch of Akron, Ohio, and 2 grandchildren, Cole and Lauren Lautermilch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her 4 siblings: Kathryn Gilbert, Hugh Morris, Wilma Moore, and Earl Morris.
Reba graduated from Hamilton High School class of 1951 and went on to attend The Ohio State University where she received her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, and also a bachelor's in education.
After graduating, Reba worked as a dental hygienist for a few years before her children were born. After which she started teaching at St. Peter's Catholic School in Upper Sandusky, and St. Mary's in Kirby. She also taught at the Nevada Elementary School and then for the HHWP Head Start Program. Reba returned to dental hygiene in Upper Sandusky later in her career.
She was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. and also was active at one time with the Usando Literary Club, Bridge Club, Welcome Wagon, and The Ohio State Alumni Association.
For hobbies she enjoyed playing cards, reading, and had a heart for others. She enjoyed connecting with old friends and making new ones, for she never knew a stranger. Reba was a devoted OSU Buckeye sports fan and enjoyed cheering for her hometown Cincinnati Reds.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Father Conrad Sutter OFM Conv., and Deacon Kevin Wintersteller. Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Monday, September 19, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with a 7:45 pm Scripture service to be held on Monday
