Rebecca Ann (Dunn) Winter

March 16, 1956 — August 8, 2025

Rebecca Ann "Becky" Winter, age 69, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025.  She was home with her family and her passing was peaceful.

Becky was born on March 16, 1956, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to William and Susan "Susie" (Martin) Dunn. She was married to Donald F. Winter, the love of her life, on November 4, 1978. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2013.

Becky is survived by her two children: Eli Winter of Maine, and Sarah Suzanne (Cory Minton) Winter of Columbus, cat Jolene, brother Scott (Sandy) Dunn of Texas, sister Beth (Kevin) Thiery of Sycamore, step mother Jane Dunn of Upper Sandusky, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother Michael Dunn.

Becky graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1974. Becky was a passionate gardener, focusing on native perennials to help feed pollinators, and tending the juiciest and sweetest varieties of heirloom tomatoes. She loved to eat the tomatoes while still warm from the sun. Becky's love for music spanned many genres and eras, leading to an impressive collection of concert ticket stubs and fascinating stories. Becky was a voracious reader with a particular taste for mysteries, philosophy and fantasy. She spent hours at her kitchen table mulling over big ideas, ancient stories and intriguing characters with family and friends. Becky had an adventurous palate and sought out new cuisines and recipes to enjoy. She loved cats and always kept at least one furry friend near.

Becky was an incredibly funny, witty, and kind person, with a drive to continually learn and grow as a person. She was incredible at giving advice and terrible at taking it. Becky has always inspired those she met to laugh harder, indulge themselves in treats and experiences, and to "never miss an opportunity to shut the **** up!"
