Raymond Potts

Raymond Potts, age 73, of Nevada, Ohio, died on Thursday October 23, 2008 just outside his home in Nevada.

He was born on September 23, 1935 to Robert Homer & Ida Mae (Newell) Potts, both of whom are deceased.

Raymond married Velma Abbott on August 3, 1957 in Marion, Ohio and she survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Rae Jean (Shannon) Johnson of Nevada and 2 granddaughters, Hannah and Kayla.

Raymond is also survived by 2 brothers, Robert Potts of Texas and William Potts of Florida along with a sister, Mary Walters of Marion.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl.

Raymond retired from Mills Metal in Upper Sandusky and before that he had worked for Great Lakes Char and Tecumseh Products both in Marion.

Ray was of the Baptist faith and for hobbies he enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions and garage sales. He also loved spending time with family, especially his 2 granddaughters.

Funeral services for Raymond Potts will be at 11:00am Tuesday, October 28 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, with the Rev. Ray Lasalle officiating. Burial will
follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Marion Veteran Burial Detail.

Visitations will be held on Monday, October 27, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
