Rachel M. Thompson

Rachel M.  Nance Thompson, age 36, of Marion, Ohio and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2:17am peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Rachel is survived by her greatest loves: her sons Holden Nance and Shaqir Thompson, and her husband Santonio Thompson.  Step-children: Santonio Thompson II, Zanobia, Riley, and Taliyah.

She is also survived by her mother Marilyn (Bob) Wright, paternal grandmother Marie Honacker, Maternal grandmother June Lundy.

Rachel is also survived by her aunt and best friend Kathy Davis, uncles Paul Nance and James Harrah. Cousins: Travis (Brittney Fox) Davis, Trever (Katie) Davis.  Mother in law Thelma Green, father in law Gregory (Donna) Thompson. Along with brother in laws, Marcellus Thompson, Jermail Thompson, and sister in laws Tanisha Thompson and Tasha Hill.  Several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family survive.

Rachel was preceded in death by her father Gary Nance, paternal grandfathers, Paul Nance and Lee Honacker and maternal grandfather

Gwane Lundy, and cousin Mindy Stahl.

Rachel loved watching her son play football.  She enjoyed being in the sun and sand, and loved shopping along with enjoying the finer things in life.

She was a strong advocate for autism, and became very involved in knowing all the various research to be able to help her son Holden lead a normal life, which he does today.

A celebration of life service for Rachel Nance Thompson will be held at 4:00pm Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Shawn Jackson officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will follow immediately following the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
