R. Mark Davidson, age 74, of rural Nevada died at 9:15 am on December 29, 2011 at his residence with his loving family at his side.
Mark was born on September 17, 1937 to the late John & Hilda (Gutenberg) Davidson. He then married Edna Ann "Cookie" Frey on April 18, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kirby and she survives.
He is also survived by seven children, Steve (Lori) Davidson, Rick Davidson, Kevin (Judy) Davidson, Lori (Mark) Rowe, Jerry Davidson, Bernie (Johanna) Davidson and Scott Davidson, grandchildren: Nathan, Katrina, Kelly, Kerry, Julia, Jill, John, Kevin, Lindsey (Peter) North, Sarah (Jason) Kraus, Matt, Tim, Tiffany, Kai, Brandon, Trevor and Dillon, great grandchildren: Kory, Kaden, Katelyn, Ryleigh, Bentley and Ardyn, and 2 step-grandchildren Eric and Emily.
Mark is also survived by brothers and sisters; Mary Catherine Welly, Winifred Ohlinger, Irene Cass, Jessie Farley, Bill (Porki), and Ralph (Dorothy) Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Ed, John "Barney", Don, and two sisters Rachel Long and Shirley Ellison.
Mark was a employeed at Roppe Rubber Corporation in Fostoria where he drove semi for 28 years. He also was a lifelong farmer which was his true passion.
A man of faith, Mark was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. He was a 3rd degree member of the K of C council #2050 in Upper Sandusky and a 4th Degree Knight.
Mark will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Visitations will be held Monday, January 2, 2012 from 1pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm with a scripture service at 8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:30am at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. J.R. Hadnagy, OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Kirby, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter's Catholic School in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH. 43351.
