Phyllis E. Molnar, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her home in Upper Sandusky.
Born June 1, 1934 in Lorain, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William and Edythe (Cooke) Rousch. She married Ronald J. Molnar on July 23, 1954 and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1979.
Surviving are a son, Ron (Rosie) Molnar of Palmdale, CA, three daughters: Kim Parsell, Melinda (Kevin) O'Flaherty, and Lisa Lohr all of Upper Sandusky, 10 grandchildren: Sam Molnar, Veronica Molnar, Jarred Parsell, Wesley Parsell, Lauren Parsell, Jen Glass, Rae Sybert, Joe O'Flaherty, Sarah Robinson, and Adrihannah Lohr, 10 great grandchildren: Landon, Ella, Lucia, Lexie, Jacob, Ethan, Matthew, Ellie, Livie, and Cece, and a sister, Barbara Soliz of Bakersfield, CA.
Preceding her in death were seven sisters: Violet Martin, Margaret Baker, Rita Fantin, Mary Jordan, Jeanne Gallo, Betty Snezek, and Patricia Horn
A woman of faith, Phyllis graduated in 1952 from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Lorain, and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent in Monroe for three years until an illness prevented her from completing her studies to become a nun and Latin teacher.
Many will remember her working at A&A Grocery in the meat department for several years. She had also worked at Millington Plastics, Lawson's, Moore's Hardware, Blue's Furniture, and Cardinal and Shoppers Choice groceries, and Ben Franklin all formerly in Upper Sandusky.
Phyllis enjoyed listening to music and attending dances with her husband. She also bowled in numerous leagues at Wyandot Lanes.
Phyllis loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remember for her laughter, wit and sense of humor, strength, and her loving way of putting others before herself.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 2 - 5 p.m. at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. A Christian Wake service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday prior to visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky with Rev. J.R. Hadnagy, OFM Conv. officiating.
A private graveside service will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery near Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be given to Upper Sandusky Community Library or a charity of the donor's choice in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH. 43351.
