Pauline R. Vaughn

December 18, 1925 — November 5, 2016

Pauline R. Vaughn, age 90, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away Saturday November 5th at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.

Born on December 18, 1925, in Nevada, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Imogene (Morris) Bachtell.  She married William "Bill" C. Vaughn on July 14, 1950 in Nevada.  Bill passed away on December 25, 2012 after celebrating 62 years together.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her son, Dennis (Joyce) Vaughn of Bucyrus; four grandchildren, Gwyndolyn Vaughn of Florida, Brian Vaughn of Nevada, Amy Vaughn of Bucyrus, and Edward Griswold of Dublin, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Bryton,  Trent, Chase and Logan Vaughn; brother-in-law, David Riedlinger, sister-in-laws Virginia Vaughn and Ruth Vaughn and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Griswold, grandson, Greg Vaughn,  brother, Kenneth (Vivian) Bachtell, sisters, Alice (Foster) Roszman, Betty (Richard) Spore, Irene Riedlinger, and Ilene Bachtell.

After graduating from Nevada High School in 1944, Pauline worked at General Electric in Bucyrus until she married Bill.   She was a member of the former North Salem Lutheran Church, presently St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky.

Pauline looked forward to their annual vacations, traveling west to Yellow Stone, the Grand Canyon, and Mt Rushmore, north to Canada, south to Florida and Louisiana, and east to Pennsylvania and New York, as well as visiting family in Lynchburg, Virginia and Nags Head, North Carolina.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, watching sports and family gatherings.    Most of all, Pauline loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Pauline Vaughn will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 9th at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Joe Trester officiating. Burial will follow funeral services at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, 10:00am to 11:00am, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
