Paul F. Myers

Paul F. Myers, age 86, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio died 12:00pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Paul was born on September 1, 1922 in Antrim Township, Wyandot County, Ohio to Jay Maxwell and Nellie Mae (Alban) Myers, both of whom are deceased. He married Betty J. Mercer on March 6, 1947 in Columbus Ohio and she passed away on October 10, 2000.

Paul is survived by two sons: John (Carolyn) Myers and Jeff Myers both of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, three grandchildren: Jay (Katherine) Myers of Findlay, Ohio, Matthew Myers of Kent, Ohio, and Emily Myers of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, two great grandchildren: Lillian And Sophia Myers. Also surviving Paul is a brother: Harold Myers of Sycamore, Ohio, and a sister Betty Farrow of Nevada, Ohio.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his parents, a his son, James Myers.

Paul graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1940. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, Gunner's Mate 2nd Class on the U.S.S. Chicago, serving in WWII in both European and Asiatic- Pacific Theaters.

Paul retired from Dresser Industries in Galion, Ohio after 40 years as a tool & die maker. Before that he had worked for Galion Iron Works in Bucyrus.

Paul was a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, Ohio where he served as a trustee and helped with the maintenance both at the church and at Old Mission church.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family, his job at the iron works, and especially tinkering in the garage.

Funeral Services for Paul will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with the Rev. John Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Friends may call at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky from 9:30am - 11:00am Saturday, January 17, 2009.
