Owen Ratliff

Owen Ratliff, age 77 formerly of Upper Sandusky and most recently of Russells Point, Ohio died Saturday, July 12 at 1:17am at Heartland of Indian Lake in Lakeview, Ohio.

Owen was born on June 1, 1941 in Forest, Ohio to Dennis T. and Ollie Lee (White) Ratliff, both of whom are deceased.

He was once married to Rita J. Moore and she survives in Upper Sandusky along with a son Terry Ratliff of Upper Sandusky. Four brothers: Donald Ratliff of Athens, OH; Junior Ratliff of Indian Lake, OH; Gary Ratliff of Las Vegas, Nevada; Gene Ratliff of Kenton. He is also survived by four sisters: Geneva Fox of Carey, Ohio; Carolyn Cole of Upper Sandusky; Joyce Jacoby of Carey; Judy Mengerink of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kenneth and Douglas Ratliff and 3 sisters Norma Adams, and infant sisters of Mildred and Ruth.

Owen owned and operated Ratliff Plumbing and Heating for 35 years. He was a life member of the Black-Lamberjack VFW Post # 3759 in Carey and attended the Auglaize Baptist Church in Maysville. Owen was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army. For hobbies he enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, bowling and cooking.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, July 15 at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Russell Manns will be officiating with military graveside rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Carey Service Organizations.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 15 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorial
